LOCATION

The village Pribylina is located in eastern part of Liptov region. It is surrounded by High Tatras with beautiful view on Slovak national symbol - the hill Kriváň (see pictures), from south there are Low Tatras and the river Bela. The population of Pribylina is 1 500 and the people are very kind and polite to the tourists.

TOURISM, CYCLING AND RECREATION

There are many touristic ways from Pribylina - to the valleys Račkova and Jamnická (with glacial lakes), to the hills of Western High Tatras (Bystrá, Jakubiná, Baranec, Ostrý Roháč, Volovec), Kriváň - Slovak national symbol or Štrbské Pleso - the center of tourism in High Tatras. There is also an opportunity to visit a dripstone and glacial caverns in Demänovska valley (in Low Tatras).

The cycling is also possible in Tichá valley and Kôprová valley, that are located near Kriváň mountain. There is a beautiful waterfall in Kôprova valley called Kmeťov waterfall. You can find there nice forest with fruits (blackberries) and mushrooms.

There is a camp with a restaurant in Račkova valley that belongs to the village Pribylina. Every year (in August) the national climb to the Kriváň takes place here.

SWIMMING, WATER SPORTS AND FISHING

You can visit thermal swimming-pool in the village Bešeňová, that is open year-round. The temperature of water is 39 degrees Centigrate. If you prefer slides you can visit new Aquapark Tatralandia in Ondrašová.

The water sports are also possible in Liptov region - rafting on the river Belá, swimming or fishing in the lake Liptovská Mara.

SKIING

The best skiing is in Štrbské Pleso (Hihg Tatras - Solisko) and Jasná (Low Tatras).

CULTURE

If you want to know some Slovak traditional culture - folk songs, dancing, costumes, you should visit the folk festival in the village Východná.

The typical Slovak architecture is concentrated in the Museum of the Liptov villges in Pribylina. Every Sunday there is a special program devoted to some special occasion and meetings. 

SOCIAL FACILITIES IN THE VILLAGE

There are the groceries (open untill 8:00 pm and also during weekends), pubs and restaurants. There is also a petrol station near the village.
